3 Digital Marketing Trends That Will Drive Long Term Growth For Your Business

In today’s fast-paced online environment here are 3 things you can start to implement today to make sure your business continues to thrive.
Online marketing has really evolved over the last couple of years. The layout has changed and what worked for you last year, or even 6 months ago may not have the same effect now. The positive behind all of this is that you are already seeing the change in your marketing techniques, now you just need a little help figuring out how to adjust to the new climate.

I think it’s fair to say that the lifeline of any business is the new leads they can generate on a monthly basis, and the days of creating just one marketing funnel and expecting a significant ROI are in the rearview.

In today’s fast-paced online environment here are 3 things you can start to implement today to make sure your business continues to thrive.

Build An Intimate Relationship With Your Audience

Nowadays it’s almost impossible to watch a video on YouTube or scroll through your newsfeed on Facebook without seeing a bombardment of advertising from marketing “gurus” that can “help you get rich online.” The main problem with these gurus is that they have forgotten that building people’s trust online is harder now than it ever has been, and people are getting savvier when they see advertising like this.

The worst thing you can do as a marketer is to treat your audience like they’re stupid or oblivious to what you are doing, it’s insulting and won’t get you very far in terms of sales.

But, what if you really got to know your audience, and you really went the extra mile to know them and become intimate with them. We hear it all the time, “You need to know your target customer and put yourself in their shoes.” Well, next time before you click that publish button on your Facebook or YouTube Ad stop and think to yourself, “If I was my target customer would I want to watch or see this?”

As marketers, it’s our job to build real, intimate relationships with our audience. We need to show our audience that we’re human just like them. They need to know that we are not above them, but rather there side by side helping them get through the challenges their facing. It’s crucial that this reflects in your content that you put out. If you simply see your audience as just another sale you will lose and you will lose fast.

Relying On One Platform Isn’t Sufficient Anymore

The days of just focusing all your time and energy on one platform are over. Just because you have leads from Instagram doesn’t mean they are on YouTube or Twitter. Because of this, you can’t just rely on one platform anymore; you have to re-distribute your content across multiple channels. This process used to be extremely time-consuming and costly, but nowadays it’s easier than ever to take a single video or blog post and re-distribute it through things like podcasts, social media posts & email sequences.

Focus On Being Omnipresent

Chances are you’ve heard a marketer use the term Omnipresent, but you’re not 100% sure what that means. The definition of omnipresent is being present in all places at all times. Really sit down and think about that for a couple of minutes. Every time your potential customer is scrolling through Facebook, Instagram, Google or YouTube is your audience thinking about you?

The answer for most of you is probably not. You put up one ad that leads to one lead magnet or webinar and you hope for the best. That just won’t cut it in today’s marketing world, people are catching on and they’re smarter than you think.

Being omnipresent means every time your potential customer is watching a YouTube video or scrolling through their IG and FB feed you are popping up providing some form of value to them. That value can come in many forms, whether it’s a blog post, a video, or even a long-form FB or IG post, everywhere your potential customer is you need to be there providing value and building trust.

Building trust with your audience is more crucial now than it ever has been. As the digital marketing world continues to evolve and develop, it will become even more important for your business’s long-term success. Focus your efforts on building authentic and intimate relationships with your audience, spreading out your message across multiple channels, and staying relevant by being omnipresent with your audience and you’ll notice a significant difference in your key performance indicators.
